In 1994, Ray Byam (1956-2004) came down to Mexico to vacation and was so amazed with the crystal blue and white sand beaches, that he decided it was a great time relocate home in Canada and come live in the charming warm weather of Los Cabos. In search a good way of business, Ray thought of Cuban cigars knowing it was in great demand by the tourists, so in 1995 he decided to start with small kiosk in different points of the small town as well as concessions in the most popular Restaurants in town then such as Squid Roe, Giggling Marlin, Kokomos, Carlos & Charles’s, Caliente y Restaurant Stop Light, among others. In 2000, he had the opportunity of formally opening his first tobacco shop “ALL STAR CIGARS” in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. Being very creative as he was, he thought of having an old classic Cuban car installed on the roof, as an attraction tall by passing people (To this day, the car continues in its original place catching many tourists’ attention and picture taking). By 2001 he closes down all kiosks in town as well as ALL STAR CIGARS” to open almost simultaneously two other shops in even a better location, which are still operating today:
